Tuesday night’s episode was too familiar for some viewers
BIG Brother viewers were unimpressed on Tuesday night when scenes showed contestants engaging in an I’m A Celebrity style task.
As part of the shopping budget task, Deborah Agboola, Charlotte Keys, Andrew Cruickshanks and Tom Barker had to endure a bug challenge.
The quartet were taken into a separate room from their other housemates and confronted with a variety of boxes.
The boxes – which were clear – contained some creepy crawlies and a snake.
A tarantula and cockroaches were also in the boxes that the four housemates had to stand opposite.
But while also standing within their designated spots, the contestants had to endure dead bugs being dropped on their heads.
If the onslaught of bugs got too much, the contestants could hit a red button to stop the torture.
But all four opted to scream their way through the task without pulling out and failing.
However viewers were unimpressed when the segment aged – with comparisons to ITV’s hit reality show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here seeming inevitable.
A host of Big Brother fans took to Twitter to slam the show for copying the rival reality series.

“This task is like a really s**t Bushtucker trial. #BBUK,” one unimpressed fan fumed.
“@bbuk is so desperate for ratings it has ‘borrowed’ bush tucker trials. I miss the BB of yesteryear. #SocialExperiment,” tweeted another – referencing Five’s dwindling ratings for the long-running show.
“IS THAT IT!? They only dropped the bugs on them. I was expecting way much more, what a disappointment. #BBUK,” another fan grumbled.
Others made the I’m A Celeb comparison – with one tweeting: “And to think, you can’t even say “i’m a celebrity get me out of here” #bbuk,” and another adding: “Thought this was Big Brother not I’m a celebrity??? #BBUK”.
Others were unimpressed with the screaming.
“Deborah screaming for her mom is an actually joke #bbuk,” one wrote – with another adding: “#bbuk Another pointless screaming task #yawn”.
While others added: “That wasn’t even funny quite pathetic really #BBUK”, and another blasting the contestants, tweeting: “What a bunch of absolute wusses #bbuk.”
Big Brother continues on Five every night of the week at 10pm – with evictions on Thursday’s airing from 9pm.
